Press Release: Kinloch Anderson Unveils New Limited Edition Whisky ‘Pleated to Sett’

Created to celebrate the vibrant history of the Port of Leith and its links to the whisky industry, Kinloch Anderson have collaborated with Whisky Consultant Blair Bowman, Master Blenders Woven and the Leith Export Co to curate this first limited release blend – Pleated to Sett. The first in The Kiltmaker Series – a collection of limited release collaborative blends all with a nod to the heritage of Kinloch Anderson and its 150 year history with Leith and Edinburgh.

Pleated to Sett is offered in two bottlings – 70cl (£75) and 10cl (£15) a limited release of 540 bottles of the 70cl has been produced and this is the first bottling in The Kiltmaker Series.

Bottled at 46.8% ABV, without any artificial colouring or chill-filtration, The Pleated to Sett is a fresh and complex blend of flavours that have been perfectly blended, before being further ‘married’ in hogshead casks, to bring additional harmony to the whisky’s flavour profile.

Pleated to Sett celebrates the company’s roots as they have worked tirelessly to create a product that intertwines the craftsmanship that goes behind both whisky and kilt making. The name itself draws inspiration from a kiltmaking expression used to describe a seamless tartan pattern through the pleats of a kilt. Just as chalking ensures each pleat is intentional, the precise artistry of blending selects distinct flavours with a deliberate purpose and finesse.

Aligned with Kinloch Anderson’s sustainability ethos, the packaging is crafted from kiltmaking offcuts, giving new life to traditional craftsmanship while reducing waste. Not only does this reduce waste in the main area of the business but it will also create a second life in the form of a reusable gift bag.

Whisky specialist Blair Bowman has been instrumental in the creation of this unique
blend and with his exemplary palate the tasting notes have been crafted;

Pleated to Sett opens with vibrant citrus notes, evolving into rich dried fruits and
warming spice, offering a long, moreish finish. Pleated to Sett is a blend of carefully
selected whiskies from Scotland which have been carefully blended by the experts at
Woven and finally married together in hogshead casks to give the final expression and flavour profile.

John Kinloch Anderson – Chief Executive

We wanted to create a unique blend of the finest whisky which was finished in hogshead casks to marry the
flavours together – this partnership between Woven and Kinloch Anderson is a natural progression between us, both based in Leith and we are excited to be working together.
Pete Allison – Woven

The Kinloch Anderson whisky was bottled by The Leith Export Co at our Lind and Lime distillery – We are delighted to work with Kinloch Anderson who are our neighbours in our thriving Leith local community.
