It is no secret that we are big fans of Mackmyra Swedish whisky here at Whisky Unplugged.
Looking through our posts over the years (click here), we have enjoyed following their journey from pioneering the first whisky distillery in Sweden to the many successes they have enjoyed along the way.
There is no doubt that their success is attributed to the very limited regulations on Swedish whisky distilling, therefore allowing them to have pushed many boundaries through their various expressions and experimentations. In short: they have embraced change and challenging the norms.
With that, further changes are now underway within Mackmyra itself.
Last year we shared the first expression under the new master distiller behind Mackmyra: Destination
The message here was clear; we’ve been on a journey, and this our destination. With multiple sites, experiences, and experimentations underway, new releases are on their way but, with that, the old ones are on their way out.
We have loved their seasonal range of whiskies (Appelblöm and Vintersol, in particular), and the less frequent Moments series has also come to an end (some of our faves being Fjällmark and Efva).
Mackmyra have today announced that their last units of the Moments series are available online with a discount for those looking to multi-buy.
