On International Women’s Day, The Lakes Distillery will release a limited-edition single malt whisky that celebrates the spirit of modernity and inclusivity in the world of whisky.

Named after the pioneering mother of contemporary dance, Isadora Duncan, ‘Isadora’ is a Whiskymaker’s Edition with only 900 individually numbered bottles.
Meticulously crafted by whiskymaker Sarah Burgess, at 53% ABV and an RRP of £150, Isadora is a rich and complex dance of flavour whose bright golden hue belies its true depths and an intricate and indulgent flavour profile.
“Designed with élevage, we aimed to create an elegant and timeless sherry-led whisky with a modern twist. Free from traditional constraints, Isadora invites you to take a graceful waltz through a rich tapestry of flavours, culminating in a crescendo of bitter dark chocolate and a luxuriously long mouth-coating finish.”

As one of the final releases in The Whiskymaker’s Editions series, Isadora is available exclusively at The Lakes Distillery’s on-site boutique. To mark its launch, The Lakes is holding a charitable prize draw to win bottle number one, with 100% of every donation going to support the OurWhisky Foundation. Tickets cost £10 and are available on LakesDistillery.com, with people able to enter as many times as they wish.
“Sarah is not only a master in her craft but also a mentor for and an ardent supporter of the OurWhisky Foundation. We are thrilled that she and The Lakes are contributing to our fundraising efforts with the inaugural bottle of Isadora.”
Becky Paskin, founder OurWhisky Foundation
The OurWhisky Foundation is a non-profit organisation recognising, supporting, and empowering women working in whisky around the world while advocating for a more inclusive and diverse industry. Through collaboration with the global whisky community, the foundation aims to challenge whisky’s outdated gendered image and help women thrive in their careers.
The campaign theme for International Women’s Day, on 8 March 2024, is to #InspireInclusion.
